About Me

I am a Freelance Dance Teacher and Choreographer specialising in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Dance and First Wedding Dance Choreography.

After attending Hazlemere School of Dancing, I studied at the University of Chester where I gained a BA Honours in ‘Dance Studies with Arts and Cultural Management’. My degree specialised in Contemporary Dance and Choreography, which gave me countless opportunities to devise new work, whilst also giving me the chance to teach in many schools in the Cheshire area.

Since finishing my degree, I have been lucky enough to make a career as a Dance Teacher and now work at a number of dance schools including Hazlemere School of Dancing, Castle Street Dance Studios and Stage Plus School of Performing Arts. My work has taken my into many Primary and Secondary schools around the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire area, where I have taught workshops, after-school clubs, INSET Training, GCSE Dance and advised choreography for events such as ‘Rock Challenge’ and the ‘MAD Arts Festival’. I am currently working with Sainsbury’s Active Kids and LEPRA Health in Action, delivering Street Dance workshops in a selection of Primary schools. I am proud to be associated with both schemes, which not only provide pupils with an introduction to Street Dance, but also raise awareness of the importance of exercise and healthy living.

I have been choreographing First Wedding Dances since 2004 and have worked with a large number of clients in that time. As well as working for First Dance UK, I also teach privately around the Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxon and Greater London area. I always enjoy the challenge of coming up with new choreography, from classic Ballroom-style routines, to the slightly more usual ‘YouTube’ inspired dances!  I have worked with a number of high profile clients and have choreographed Wedding routines in many styles including Ballroom, Salsa, Hip Hop, Jive, Tango, as well as the infamous ‘I’ve Had the Time of my Life’ from “Dirty Dancing”!

More recently, I have choreographed a number of group dances for wedding guests, including “Fame” and “Here Come the girls”. I have also taught at many Hen Parties and given private lessons for the Mother and Father of the Bride and the Best Man.
